On 17 June 2008, Fujian Fengzhu Textile Science & Technology Co. Ltd (600493) announced that a fire had broken out in the HTM heater at its headquarters in Jinjiang, Fujian Province, on 12 Jun 2008. By the afternoon of the following day, the company had gradually restored production and it now expects production to return to normal by the end of June.

Through the efforts of employees and firefighters, the blaze was extinguished by midnight on 12 June. There were no casualties reported as a result of the fire, and though all property damage was fully insured, certain production lines were temporary halted. Trading in the company’s shares resumed on 17 Jun 2008.
