Shenzhen Chiwan Wharf Holdings Limited (000022) revealed its business data for May 2008. The company finished the month with 5.5 mln tons of cargo throughputs, up 21.6% from the previous year.

For the month of May, Chiwan Port Area and Mawan Port Area achieved a combined container throughput of 514,000 TEU, up 13.7% from the previous year. Individually, Chiwan Port Area saw container throughput of 368,000 TEU, up 9.2% YOY, while bulk cargo throughput was 629,000 tons, up 22.9% YOY.

As of the end of May 2008, the company totalled cargo throughput of 26.65 million tons, up 12.8% YOY. Chiwan and Mawan Ports had 2.55 million TEU in container throughput, up 10.1% YOY. Chiwan port area had 1.81 million TEU in container throughput, up 7.5% YOY, and 3.32 mln tons in bulk cargo throughput, up 15.6% YOY. As of the end of May 2008, vessels plying 64 international container liner routes had called at the port.
