On 3 Jun 2008 SAIC Motor Corporation Limited (600104) received a notice from the Ministry of Commerce stating that Shanghai Electric Group Co. Ltd was approved to transfer its 50.32% stake in Shanghai Diesel Engine Company Limited (600841), or 241,709,280 shares, to SAIC Motor Corporation Limited.

On 29 Dec 2007 the Board of Directors of SAIC Motor approved a proposal regarding the acquisition of a 50.32% stake in Shanghai Diesel from Shanghai Electric, which was approved by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of State Council on 9 Apr 2008.

On 3 Jun SAIC Motor closed at RMB 12.55 per share, down 1.10%.
