Yunnan Yunwei Co. Ltd is engaged in the manufacture and sale of organic chemical materials, chemical fibre materials, cement, oxygen products, the wholesaling and retailing of mechanical & electrical equipment, hardware, and the import of instruments, metres, mechanical equipment, calcined soda and ammonium chloride. The company's annual production capacity of calcium carbide is 90,000 tons, that of vinyl acetate is 50,000 tons, that of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is 28,000 tons, that of cement is 500,000 tons, that of calcined soda is 200,000 tons and that of ammonium chloride is 200,000 tons.

Yunnan Yunwei was the first company of its kind to go public in China.
