On 23 May 2008 at 2:30 pm in the hall of the China Beijing Equity Exchange, the company entrusted Beijing Yonghe Jiancheng Auction Co. Ltd to auction 134,407,099 restricted A-shares of Haitong Securities Co. Ltd held by the company, with a restricted period until 29 Dec 2008.

Investors can register for the auction at Beijing Yonghe Jiancheng Auction or at the China Beijing Equity Exchange prior to 21 May 2008 at 5:00 pm. Following examination by relevant authorities, investors who obtain approval must sign contracts with Beijing Yonghe Jiancheng Auction and deposit RMB 200 mln in securities prior to 23 May 2008 at11:00 am in order to participate in the auction.
