Since the company's incorporation, the company has maintained its leading edge through the development of modern production equipment and processes such as advanced large-scale shaft furnace pellet, casting-hot charging-direct rolling process, the walking-beam heating furnace as well as plate mill with the largest rolling force and the highest accuracy in the country.

Jinan Iron and Steel is ranked the largest steel plate producer in the country. In 2005, it achieved plate sales of 3.2768 Mln tons giving the company a 13.44% market share.
