Company Directors Receive Directors of the Year Award 2008

The Directors Of the Year Award 2008, sponsored by the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, was held on 24 Nov 2008 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. The company's board of directors was honored to receive 'the Directors of the Year Award 2008 - the Board of Directors of Listed Companies (SEHK - Non-Hang Seng Index Constituents)', meanwhile, Wei Jiafu, chairman of the board, received 'the Directors of the Year Award 2008 - Executive Director of Listed Companies (SEHK - Non-Hang Seng Index Constituents)'.

Chen Hongsheng, the company's executive director and general manager, represent all the directors to accept their award, he said, “To maximize the company's operating profit and enterprise value, and maximize the shareholders' return is the company's objective for all the times. As the company listed in both Shanghai and Hong Kong, the board of directors feel honored to receive the award again. The board of directors will continue to enhance and perfect its corporate governance and build the world-class management models for listed companies.”

Li Yunpeng, chairman of the company's board of supervisors, represent Wei Jiafu to accept his award and conveyed his award-winning speech, “To build world-class enterprise is my goal consistently pursued, as well as the board of directors'. Thanks to the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the honor not only confirms my individual job, but also the board of directors' and all the staffs'. As the leader in the company, I will coordinate with the directors and all the staffs to create more value to the shareholders and the society.”

The dinner banquet and the award ceremony, both attended with over 700 guests from different industries, were hosted by Huang Shaokai, chairman of the Hong Kong Institute of Directors. The company's directors, including Li Boxi, Han Wudun and Zheng Muzhi and the chairman of the board of supervisors Li Yunpeng all attended the award ceremony.

The Directors Of the Year Award is an annual event in Hong Kong commercial circle, sponsored by the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, and supported by the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong as well as the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. The award has highly authoritative aims to honor the outstanding directors and publicizes importance of corporate governance.
