Independent Director Resigns

On 27 Oct 2008, the board of directors received a letter of resignation from Wang Sheming, an independent director on the board. Because the number of independent directors will be lower than what was stipulated in the statutory requirement if Wang resigns, his resignation will only be valid after another independent director has been elected. The company will convene a meeting of the board of directors and an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders for a by-election for an independent director as soon as possible.
