Goods Throughput Reaches 54.11 Mln Tons

The company saw a 7.9% YOY decrease in goods throughput, reaching 4,744,000 tons in Oct 2008. Chiwan port and Mawan Port achieved combined container throughput of 444,000 TEU (Twenty-foot Equivalent Units), down 19.4% YOY, with Chiwan Port reaching 317,000 TEU, down 23.1% YOY. Chiwan Port's foodstuffs throughput hit 709,000 tons, up 21.4% YOY.

The company's total goods throughput to October 2008 was 54.11 mln tons, a 9.5% YOY increase. Chiwan Port and Mawan Port held a combined container throughput of 5,157,000 TEU, up 2.6%YOY, including 3,651,000 TEU at Chiwan Port alone, up 0.9%YOY. Chiwan Port's total foodstuffs throughput reached 6,521,000 tons, up 10.2% YOY.

In addition, as of the end of October 2008, a total of 56 international container lines called at the company's ports.
