Western Mining Co. Ltd is engaged in mining, smelting and trading of base metals including zinc, lead, copper, aluminum, gold, silver as well as research, production and sale of alloy products and geological survey. Its products are distributed to many countries including Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong.
The company operates four large and medium size non-ferrous metal mines and 6 subsidiaries, 12 holding companies, 3 joint stock companies and one industrial park.
Its annual production capacity of lead, zinc and copper concentrates as a whole reaches 160,000 tons and its annual smelting capacity for electrolytic zinc, electrolytic lead and electrolytic aluminum exceeds 140,000 tons.
The company's productivity ranked 2nd in lead concentrate, 4th in zinc concentrate, and 7th in copper in China. It is the sole large enterprise producing non-ferrous metals in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
