LCD TV and Mobile Sales Surge
According to recently-released September sales data, the company sold 458,800 LCD TVs, a 189.5% YOY increase, and 1,208,100 mobile phone handsets, which is a small drop compared to the same period last year. In addition, the company has reached its 9-month sales target of 2,693,200 LCD TVs and 10,263,800 mobile phones, which respectively represent 1,911,200 and 2,457,600 improvements over the same period last year.
Meanwhile, the company's international sales of LCD TVs rose substantially, boosting demand for LCD modules. With increased market share in the TV industry as their goal, the company decided to expand investment in its LCD module development program. Furthermore, since its entry into the mobile phone market, the company has successfully evaded vicious price competition and sustained stable growth.
TCL is now recognized as an international brand,
with 2007 overseas sales equal to 40% of total 2007 sales. President Li Dongsheng asserted that the global economic crisis and the appreciation of the yuan will have little impact on the company's overall operating strategy and that future focus will be on efficient management and cost control.
