China Yangtze Power Co. Ltd is engaged in the generation and distribution of hydroelectric power. The company sells its electricity to areas of central China (Hubei, Hunan, Henan, Jiangxi and Chongqing), east China (Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui) and Guangdong Province. The company is the largest listed hydroelectric power company in China. It owns the Gezhouba Dam on the Changjiang River in Hubei and has acquired six electrical generating sets for production in the Three Gorges Dam. The company is working on the acquisiton by 2015 of 26 additional electrical generating sets of the Three Gorges Dam owned by one of its largest shareholders, Changjang Development Co. Ltd.
