According to preliminary data released by its finance department, the company's net profit for the first three quarters of 2008 is estimated to have decreased by 50% compared with its net profit of RMB 659,361,400 and EPS of RMB 0.17 for the same period in 2007.

The decrease is mainly attributable to the rising cost of power generation caused by surging coal prices.
