Sichuan Xichang Electric Power Co. Ltd is engaged in the generation and distribution of electric power in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. The company's plant is located at the junction of the Jinsha River, Yalung River and Dadu River with hydropower reserves of 71 million kilowatts. The company maintains transfer and distribution lines reaching over 2,300 kilometres, including 380 kilometres of 110 kilovolt (KV) lines, 450 kilometres of 35kv lines, and 380 kilometres of 10kv lines.

Sichuan Xichang holds 14 million institutional shares of Liangshan Urban Credit Center, as well as a number of participating shares in Kangxi Copper Company and Dechang Ferroalloy Group.The company's controlling shareholder, Sichuan Grid, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the State Grid.
