3rd 2008 EGM on 16 Sept 2008

At the 3rd Meeting of the 2nd Board of Directors, held on 27 Aug 2008, the following proposals were examined and approved:

1. the 2008 Semiannual Report and its Abstract
2. the Corporate Governance Rectification Report after an on-site inspection undertaken by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC), Shanxi bureau
Detailed information pertaining to the report can be found on the website of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (www.sse.com.cn), dated 28 Aug 2008.

3. to revise management rules on financing activities, loans and guarantees
The 3rd 2008 Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders is scheduled to be convened on 16 Sept 2008 whereby the above-mentioned proposals will be submitted for further examination.
