In the morning session of 1 Aug 2008, the HSI Properties Index opened 288 points lower at the bell, reaching as low as 26,577 and standing at 26,722 at press time, a 2.2% dip.

Of the six constituents, five dropped between 1.7% and 3.6%, with only China Overseas (0688 HK) seeing a slight 0.6% increase. Sino Land (0083 HK) and Hang Lung PPT (00101) both fell below their MA 20 to HKD 15.16 and HKD 23.95 respectively. SHK PPT (00016) and Henderson Land (00012) were down 2%, to HKD 114 and HKD 47.4, while Wharf Holdings (00004) fell below its MA10 to HKD 33.65 at the latest quote.
