CHINA MERCHANTS BANK CO.,LTD (600036)

Second Minimum Limit since Listing

Although indexes of non-ferrous metals, wine and food, and communications have been mildly stronger than the overall market index, the blue chips' performance has been weak as a whole. On 1 July, the finance, steel and electricity indexes all dropped by 4% or more and the company even closed at its intraday minimum limit.

The blue chips' slump not only made the market lose a most powerful driver, but also led to a continuous decline. It is worth noting that since its listing, the company only had had two occurrences of maximum declines, with the most recent on 10 Jun 2008, which had not even taken place in the days of the bear market.
