The company announced on 8 July 2008 that its subsidiaries have won bids for a total of RMB 6.84 bln.

In the announcement, its subsidiaries, No.4 Chinese Railway Bureau Group Co. Ltd, China Railway NO.3 Engineering Group Co. Ltd, China Railway Tenth Group Co. Ltd, and China Railway No.2 Engineering Group Co. Ltd have respectively won the HNCJZQ-1, HNCJZQ-2, HNCJZQ-3, and HNCJZQ-8 sections of the Shanghai-Nanjing inter city railway project for RMB 6.84 bln in total, accounting for 3.82% of the company's 2007 main business revenue under Chinese Accounting Standards.

China Railway No.2 Engineering (600528) announced on the same day that it has also won the HNCJZQ-8 section for RMB 2.55 bln and the construction period for the section is 533 days.
